Dr. Vijay Kumar specialized in physical therapy out of medical school because he wanted to serve his community of West Branch in an underserved area. Dr. Kumar knew the troubles that many physical therapy patients found when they needed extensive treatment for their physical ailments. Many patients need extended care to regain full motion after accidents or as a result of degenerative diseases. Dr. Kumar opened a new physical therapy facility in West Branch and began working with patients to solve their problems. Soon he found himself becoming more involved with the local community as a business leader and an advocate in the professional physical therapist community. Dr. Kumar took it one step further when he decided to run for state office in 2015.
Dr. Vijay Kumar plans to run in the 2016 elections for the 103rd Michigan state district from his home in West Branch. After working with professional advocacy groups like the Michigan Physical Therapy Association for many years trying to make it easier for professionals like him to do their jobs and for patients to get the care they need, Dr. Kumar decided to expand his services to the community even further by running for office. Dr. Kumar believes that he can implement the budget and small business regulatory reform that can help everyone in his district.
Dr. Vijay Kumar has assembled a campaign team and lined up endorsements and donors ready to help him take office after the 2016 elections. He believes that his vision for the future of his district and the state will win voters over.
